About me
I graduated from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul in the spring of 2010, where I majored in sociology and journalism. I've gone to Mali, Africa as a student sociologist. Just a week after graduation, I packed up and moved to Fargo, N.D. for a job with Minnesota Public Radio in neighboring Moorhead.
My family
I come from a family of 11; my parents currently live in Superior, Wis. where they are raising my younger brothers and sisters. My father works at the Arrowhead Library System on Minnesota's Iron Range. My mother runs a day care. Both are wonderful watercolor artists.
Minnesota Public Radio
I mostly do online production work for MPR, which includes a mix of homepage editor, copy editor, photo editor, state, national and international wire editor ... you get the point. I do get out into the field sometimes; I'm always working on shooting better photos, and have occasionaly written for the radio.

This is me canoeing through a patch of wild rice a few years ago in the Boundary Waters. I'm planning a 10-day trek from Lac La Croix to the Gunflint Trail this July and August. Wish us luck.
I received a scholarship to study Islam in Turkey in January 2010. Later that spring, I made a website documenting my time there.
